Parenting Your Parents
Parenting Your Parents, an occasional E-Newsletter, is a free resource for children caring for aging parents in the U.S. from abroad. Each issue focuses on a topic that can provide guidance to expat children caring for their aging parents in the U.S. Are you wrestling with a particular parent care challenge?
Binocular Vision founder and President, Marcia Johnson, invites your suggestions for future topics. marcia@binocvision.com

Marcia's Parent Care Pick
I remember gifts my parents looked forward to receiving. They lived in a one bedroom retirement community apartment, so didn't need anything. I gifted them with delicious things to eat. For mom it was always a box of chocolates, "both crèmes and nuts please" and for dad, because he was diabetic, a tin of Washington State University Creamery's award winning Cougar Gold sharp, white cheddar cheese.
This year I have a new idea: A gift that can keep on giving indefinitely by improving memory: Dr. Kawashima's Brain Age: Train Your Brain in Minutes a Day from Nintendo. I plan to gift one to my husband's parents (aged 87 and 88) and one to myself.
